Personal Development

Fight 4 Change coaches not only deliver projects that engage young people in the sport of boxing, but also act as role models and mentors for young people. With this relationship established the Fight 4 Change programme can deliver a range of personal and social development initiatives that can inspire, motivate and support young people in their life choices. Our coaches and staff are trained to deliver workshops covering:

  • Equality and diversity
  • Leadership and communication
  • Conflict resolution and anger management
  • Citizenship and role model training.

Our skilled staff team also deliver bespoke programmes for individual client groups rather than ‘one size fits all’ projects, built around the following areas of work:

Planning for
Personal Goals

This is a half day or one day programme that includes a motivational workshop and presentation by Richie Woodhall, an interactive planning workshop to help young people visualise goals and develop a ‘route-map’ to achieving their personal ambitions, and a coaching session / question and answer session with Richie Woodhall.

This workshop can also be delivered as an Open College Network qualification delivered by our colleagues at WAM.

Female
Empowerment

Delivered as a one day programme, or in smaller units, an all- female staff team deliver sports activities built around boxing, martial arts and other sports. Within this environment short, fun, interactive workshops are also delivered covering:

  • Body image and stereotypes
  • Diet and nutrition
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Relationships and sexual health

This programme has been used effectively in schools, youth club and boxing settings to great effect across London and the West Midlands and with community groups in Northern Ireland.

The women’s empowerment workshops were highly effective in motivating our girls to not only get engaged in sport, but also to examine their own prejudices and stereotypes as to what is (and isn’t) considered ‘feminine’. Given that this group had always been disinterested in sports it was a joy to see how the workshops got them involved.
