Fight For Change promotes active citizenship and offers progression routes and opportunities for training and development to young people and the wider community. With support from Active Communities Network, Nike and Vinspired, we have implemented the Gamechangers programme in the West Midlands.
Gamechangers staff work with young adults aged 14 – 19 years, predominantly from low income communities, to develop new ideas for community projects, to help them plan, implement and evaluate these projects, and to provide resources and training opportunities. All time spent delivering the projects is given free by the Gamechangers volunteers.
The Gamechangers programme is also the subject of an ongoing research project undertaken by the University of Gloucestershire, due to be published mid – 2012.
