Job Title: Progressions Lead worker

About Fight4Change:
Position Overview:
The Progressions Lead Worker will play a vital role in identifying and supporting participants across our programs who need ongoing assistance to remain on a positive pathway.. Acting as a key worker, the post holder will engage with a range of high-risk participants individually, providing mentorship and tailored support to help them navigate challenges and make constructive life choices. The role involves developing and identifying routes to securing progression pathways (such as informal education activities, training, therapeutic intervention or work experience) based on participant needs. The role will also have responsibility for nurturing relationships with external agencies, and promoting community engagement through volunteering and social action projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participant Identification and Support:
– Assess and identify participants who need additional support within our programs.
– Act as a key worker, providing personalized mentoring and guidance and/or broker mentoring relationship with other staff/volunteers as deemed appropriate.
– Conduct regular check-ins and develop individualised support plans based on participant needs.
2. Needs Assessment and progressions pathways:
– Undertake a full assessment of participants start points and related challenges.
– Design and deliver or source workshops/informal education activities and information sessions tailored to address these needs.
– Ensure there are progression pathways for individuals that need it on the program.
3. External Agency Collaboration:
– Build and maintain partnerships with external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
– Signpost participants to appropriate external services and resources such as counselling, healthcare, housing, and education. Where needed broker meetings/introductions to build trust and alleviate stressors.
4. Volunteering and Social Action Projects:
– Embed volunteering and social action as part of progression development for participants to utilise transferable life skills in practice.
– Support participants to retain a volunteering presence in the community by providing additional access to training or other needs on a case by case basis.
– To support participants in help building their CV.
5. Other Duties
1. Collaborate with outreach teams to build and strengthen community relationships and recruit onto programs.
2. Engage with local communities to understand their needs and promote Fight4Change programs.
3. Represent Fight4Change at community events and forums to raise awareness of our mission and services.
4. Maintain accurate records of participant progress and program activities.
5. Where directed, prepare reports on progress on individuals and progressions made on for groups on selected funded programs.
6. Work with the CEO and team to continuously evaluate the support strategies and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
1. A minimum of three years experience working with at-risk youth or adults in the criminal justice system. – Essential
2. Experience of working in group contexts and delivering a series of informal education activities to progress young people. – Essential
3. Previous experience in a key worker or community leadership role. – Highly Desirable
4. Understanding of Lambeth and Southwark as communities and the challenges presenting residents/young people. – Desirable
5. Demonstrate understanding of sport as a tool for social change/personal development. – Desirable
Education:
1. Level three or higher qualifications in either community, justice, social work or a related field – Essential
2. Up to date Safeguarding training and good knowledge of systems/practice – Essential
3. Completed training in relation to trauma responsive and informed approaches – Essential
4. Good working knowledge of health and safety – Desirable
5. Accredited qualified trainer in Life Long Learning – Desirable
